We are only a short time away from HBS Guy Fawkes Celebrations on October 18 2025! Society members have been busy putting together a great event programme for you all to enjoy. Whilst we have all been busy for our evening we have also been visitors to a number of local Bonfire events across Sussex. The society has a great deal of active members who attend these events and represent HBS, where needed we will support the host if needed. We are only a matter of weeks away from the first Bonfire events taking place, however the best is being held in Hailsham 18th October 2025! We are well into our planning stage which takes a great deal of work and our society members are again committed to making this a fantastic event. We are always looking for additional members to support and you can be part of this fantastic event, membership details are available on the website. Keep your eyes on our social media and website for updates, there will also be a programme on sale at various outlets and events across Hailsham very soon…….

Once again HBS triumphed with a fantastic and successful FLAMING FUN DAY in June. A record number of visitors enjoyed music, food, displays, drinks and much much more. The support from the community was fantastic and once again proved that HBS FFD is a fixed event in Hailsham Towns calendar. The society worked tirelessly to make the event a success and those who were there on the day are a credit to the society values, supporting and giving up their time to make the event what it is today. We are looking at how we can beat this years event and welcome any new members to the society who help make this reality. We would also like to thank all those who attended the event with their respective stalls and groups, we couldn’t do this without you. Following on from the success of the 2024 celebrations we are now in the planning stages for the 2025 event. This will take place on 18th October 2025 with HBS leading the torch lit procession through the town and then a fantastic bonfire and firework finale at our firesite on Western Road Recreation ground. With the AGM out the way and a number of changes, the committee are now planning various fundraising events to fund this years celebrations.

We are pleased to announce following the success of last years Flaming Funday, an even bigger event to take place on the 29th June 2025 at our Firesite on the Western Road recreation ground. Further details will be announced in the next few weeks!

Following a very well-attended AGM last month, HBS is in fine form and looking forward to this year’s various fundraising events in the run-up to HB25. Many thanks to those who have taken on their new roles and also to those that have decided to take a back seat for a well-earned rest!
