After a 16 year gap Hailsham bonfire society reformed, and on the 400th anniversary of the gunpowder plot, 1605 - 2005, Hailsham Bonfire Society triumphantly rose from the ashes.

We reformed in the new year 2005 and with a lot of hard work we managed to have a small torch light procession and firework display on November the 5th 2005.

We held a most successful (all though wet at the start) celebration on the 21st of October 2006.

Last years celebrations, held on the 20th October 2007, were a great success with much better weather than the previous year.

We were joined by a number of other bonfire societies and music was provided by the Heathfield Silver Band, the Downsmen Corp and the Pentacle Drummers. We would like to thank all who came to our night on the 20/10/07, not just the societies and bands that came, but the public too. It was such a good turn out, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

We now plan to have a bonfire night every year.
